Antares Testing Method
At Antares all of our testing is performed manually, and due to the custom nature of the applications we develop, we do not typically use automated testing tools. Our Quality Assurance Software Testers perform detailed Black Box Testing; a technique where the internal components of the software are not known. The Software Tester has a thorough understanding of the software and its specification. With this knowledge they test the inputs and ensure the expected results are returned.

There are many advantages to Black Box Testing. This type of testing allows for an impartial review of the software because the developer and the tester are independent of each other. This allows for the test to be preformed from the point of view of the client/end user of the software, not the designer.

The Quality Assurance Team
Our Quality Assurance Software Testers have a strong attention to detail, strive for quality, and possess excellent communication and reasoning skills. Software Testers have a thorough understanding of the entire software development process through previous software development experience. This is beneficial as it gives Software Testers an insight into the developers' approach. Antares Quality Assurance Software Testers are responsible for creating detailed Test Plans and Test Cases which clearly define what tests are to be performed. They must define a clear path for implementation of the software’s specification and describe the objectives, approach, and focus of a software testing effort.

Quality Assurance Tools
At Antares we use the Windows SharePoint Services Team websites to organize project teams, share documents and perform issue tracking. Each project has its own team site which includes sections for Announcements, Shared Documents, Discussion Boards and Issue Tracking. Client access to the team site can be provided to ensure they stay current on project status, timelines and release schedules.
