Sullivan starting e-commerce site
Clerk of Court Tom Sullivan has announced the launch of e-commerce
capability at his Internet site www.livclerk.org. starting May 2.
The new feature, the ClerkSearch system, is scheduled to "go live" to
the public at 4:35 p.m. that day. Sullivan said the subscription-based
service will allow authorized users to search the computer indexes of
most public records on-file at the Clerk's Office and to view the
associated digitized document images. It will also enable subscribers to
print viewed documents (in whole or in part) on their home or office
computer printers - all using their computer Internet browsers.
Initially, there will be no charge for a subscription, though
subscribers will have to provide a VISA or MasterCard similar to the
practice employed by commercial enterprises such as Amazon.com.
Prints of images will cost $1 per page.
Access to the records is secured by SSL technology and all
transactions are handled through Verisign ® Payment Services - the
worldwide leader in secure Internet processing.
