Saks Department Stores’ Information Technology Department selected Antares to present at the next Expert Series seminar in January. Saks IT works with their vendors to provide regular educational and product related training sessions for their IT staff. January’s topic is “The Other BCS - Integrating External Data Sources with SharePoint”. Antares software developer, Eric Trivette, MCPD will be presenting and leading the session. Business Connectivity Services (BCS), formerly Business Data Catalog, is a SharePoint 2010 service that allows companies to read and write data to and from external line-of-business (LOB) systems from SharePoint 2010 applications. In this session Eric will show how to utilize BCS solutions to achieve deep integration between SharePoint 2010 and a company’s existing systems. These solutions include features such as business data web parts, search, Office integration, and more.
