Security Web Application
Antares designed and developed a custom ASP-based product that combines asset database information, policy monitoring, vulnerability information, and compliance surveys to determine if an organization is meeting regulatory and compliance standards. Customers can obtain a real-time view of their environment and are provided with actionable alerts and remediation to the customer to help prioritize vulnerable resources. This application was developed to allow Channel Partners the ability to customize the website according to their brand guidelines, and sell the product as their own.

The project included a project manager, a team of four developers, and two testers with an eleven month delivery schedule to define and develop the first release. The application is web-based, using Linux operating system, Java technology, J2EE, and Ajax to serve up the interactive HTML pages interfacing with a MySQL database. The client is replacing a Cold Fusion product developed in 2000.

Appro Systems
Appro 20/20 Small Business Lending System
The 20/20 Small Business Lending system allows users such as banks or credit unions to process commercial loan applications in an on-line networking environment. The system automatically tracks regulatory codes for compliance with government regulations and also provides support for tracking multiple loan products as well as multiple business owners. The application was written in MS Visual Basic 5.0, RDO 2.0, and MS SQL Server 6.5, and uses Active X DLLs along with many SQL stored procedures and triggers. The program tracks all information pertinent to making a loan application decision and is highly customizable, as each bank has its own business approval rules.

ASML MaskTools
DataMaster
Antares provided development of both Version 1 using Visual Basic and Access; and Version 2, which used Visual C++, XML and Access. WaveMaster is a software package for lithography engineers involved in the printing process of semi-conductor manufacturing. Wavemaster provides the ability to perform design of experiment testing of their process through computer simulation. The DataMaster module included data retrieval from an XML file, filtering data, simple data analysis including automatic and user selection of the best OPC (Optical Proximity Correction) points. The module also allowed for exporting to various file formats and 2D and 3D plot functionality.

Symantec Corporation
The Norton Enterprise Backup
The Norton Enterprise Backup (NEB) is a backup/data storage program engineered for LAN/WAN environments to handle unlimited backup operations simultaneously and distribute backup responsibility enterprise wide. As part of the software development team, Antares led the interface design effort. The program is written in C++ as an MDI application using custom controls, custom list boxes, and DLL’s. NEB has been acknowledged as the top rated User Interface of Network backup products. We also developed software that processes requests to perform file backups and restores through Windows sockets. The object oriented design focused on supporting Windows, Windows NT (WIN32) and Windows 95.

Direct Access Desktop
Antares helped to design and develop Direct Access Desktop, a complete Windows product offering the functionality of Program Manager, File Manager and Task Manager. As the Lead Project Engineer for a group of 8 software engineers, responsibilities involved taking a Windows product idea from the early design stage to a fully developed and tested product. Development tools included the Microsoft SDK, SoftICE/W, Borland C++ 3.0, Borland Resource Workshop, WIN AUX, Borland Debugger, and WINspector. All development was performed using the Windows debug kernel supplied with the SDK.

Fastback Plus Windows
Antares provided the Engineering Team Leader for a group of 10 software engineers assigned to convert Fastback Plus, a backup utility, from the DOS environment to Windows. A challenging part of the project involved making the new Windows version resemble its DOS predecessor. Responsibilities included designing and developing much of the user interface which involved creating and implementing the Windows, Dialogs and Controls, and coding the Dialog and Window procedures. The project also involved assisting other programmers in their code development as well as tuning the program for speed and presentation. Development tools used included the Microsoft Software Development Kit (SDK), SoftICE/W, Borland C++ 3.0, Borland Resource Workshop, WIN AUX, Borland Debugger, and WINspector. All development was performed using the Windows debug kernel supplied with the SDK.

Sterling Software
Data Access Division
Antares provided Windows C++ development to help prepare Sterling Software’s CLEAR:Access product for internationalization. The project involved isolation of strings in a resource such as a custom DLL; creation of a mechanism to read these strings as needed; and conversion of old-style C runtime library calls to proper locale-aware Windows calls.
