Energy Services Company – IT Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Project

An enterprise Energy Services company requested a solution for IT Enterprise Project Portfolio Management. The IT organization regularly managed and/or delivered three hundred plus (300+) discretionary projects annually in addition to production support and business mandatory activities annually. The client required that the solution provide capabilities for tracking and reporting the finances, resources, and project status of the portfolio. The client had a large number of existing discretionary projects and also anticipated significant changes to the portfolio in the upcoming annual budget/project planning cycle.

The client also requested that the solution leverage existing technology already active in the enterprise environment. Our architects designed and managed delivery of a solution utilizing SharePoint 2007 (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server – MOSS 2007), Quest Web Parts (suite of third party highly configurable web parts), Bamboo Solutions Project Portfolio Dashboard (third party web part), as well as a few custom actions, and some custom code deployed to the SharePoint environment. The solution provided the ability to import financial data from an extract out of SAP Business Warehouse to a SharePoint list as well as the ability to create projects, assign resources, and report project status. All of this information rolled up to charts, graphs, and a dashboard created using the Quest Web Parts and Bamboo web part respectively.

Jewelry Manufacturer and Wholesaler – SharePoint 2010 – Infrastructure and Intranet

A large just-in-time jewelry sales organization had a strong need for a company-wide portal, in addition to more flexible reporting/views into its day-to-day operations for Executive Management. An existing SQL Server 2005 data mart was used for this reporting, which required the proper analysis and mapping be performed to ensure the “drill down” capabilities can be achieved. Antares created a dashboard view based on a specific subset of this data. This was accomplished by using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SharePoint products.

Antares used its SharePoint deployment methodology known as “Fast Track”, which is a service that allows a company to get SharePoint up and running with your company portal in 8 weeks (on average). It is a turnkey solution that provides a fully functioning company intranet and collaboration portal with installation, configuration, training and production support so that you can start to use it from day one.
